This is profound writing about the way of faith discussed intellectualy, theologically, and in many practical workable ways. Flynn captures the life of God, His Spirit and power made incarnate in those who turn to Jesus.
Flynn is a gifted, educated, homespun, and accessible writer who does not bury you in academics, or a blur of bible verses you already know. Rather, he relates to you and your faith on a very personal level. I find his books easy to read and assimilate.

Mike Flynn's explanation of the role of "will" in exercising faith is extremely helpful.

If you are tired of people just telling you to pray more and read your bible more if you want to grow in your faith (chances are you've done both those things already), Flynn's unique yet theologically orthodox treatment of the subject is a welcome break from all the other cookie cutter books out there dealing with this issue that offer really no new insights.

Faith comes very easily to some and is a tremendous struggle for others. Flynn seems to get that fact.

I highly recommend this book.
